Iran’s Energy Ministry signed a deal with Germany’s energy infrastructure company SAG to cooperate in electricity projects.

The memorandum of understanding was signed between Niroo Research Institute, affiliated with the Energy Ministry, and the German company in line with the ministry’s policy to use expertise and capacity of credible foreign companies to develop and strengthen Iran’s electricity industry, the Islamic Republic’s Energy Ministry reported.

SAG is one of the leading service and system suppliers for power, gas, water and telecommunication networks.

Under the deal the two sides will cooperate to improve two power transmission lines in Iran at the first stage.

In September, the German company signed a memorandum of understanding with Iran Power and Water Equipment and Service Export Company (SUNIR) on power transmission lines as well as electricity generation and distribution.
