Iranian government plans to boost railway spending

The Iranian government has proposed a considerable increase in the expenditure on the country’s railways for the next fiscal year (starting March 20).

The Iranian government has proposed a considerable increase in the expenditure on the country’s railways for the next fiscal year (starting March 20).

The government’s draft budget bill for the next Iranian year has envisaged an 80 percent increase in spending for railways compared to the current year, Tasnim news agency reported.

According to the report, the government has proposed to spend about $235.1 million (7.76 trillion rials) on the railway in the coming year.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani presented the government’s proposed budget bill for the next year this morning.

He earlier announced that the government would give priority to the water, water treatment, environment and railways sectors in the next budget bill.
