Iran and Italy will form a joint company for building large ships, the Iranian Industry, Mines and Trade Ministry’s SHATA news website reported.
The issue was discussed during a visit of a delegation from Italian shipbuilding company Fincantieri to Tehran.
The Italian delegation met with Mansour Moazami, head of the Industrial Development & Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO), one of Iran's largest organizations involved in the country's development and industrialization process, to discuss prospects of the mutual cooperation.
Following the removal of international sanctions on Tehran last January, Fincantieri signed a framework cooperation agreement with Azim Gostaresh Hormoz Shipbuilding Industry Co. (AGH).
