About 63,000 Iranian tourists visited Russia during 2016, about 14,000 more than in 2015, Russia’s Ambassador to Tehran Levan Jagarian said during a conference held in Tehran Dec. 13.
He added that tourism relations between the two countries indicate a rapid growth, Trend’s correspondent reported from the event.
Addressing the conference, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaei said that currently 20 flights are carried out between Tehran and Russian regions.
In 2015, the number of visas issued by Russia for Iranians doubled, year-on-year, reaching 49,000.
