Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec. 17

By Fatih Karimov – Trend:

The UK will release Iran’s detained oil equipment, Dariush Amir Sardari Goudarzi, deputy director of Iranian Oil Pipelines and Telecommunications Company said.

Goudarzi said that a "UK company", has recently released two oil transfer turbines which were held in the country due to international sanctions, Mehr news agency reported Dec. 17.

Goudarzi did not name the UK company, or name whether the company was official or private.

The turbines, belonging to one of the Iranian oil transfer centers were sent to the UK for repairs, before implementation of the international sanctions against the Islamic Republic, he said, adding that the turbines will be shipped to Iran within two months.

Last month, Alireza Ebadi, operator of phase 20 and 21 projects of the South Pars gas field said that companies from France, Spain and Japan have released the held up equipment used on Phases 20 and 21 of the South Pars field.

The foreign companies refused to deliver goods to Iran once international sanctions were imposed, Ebadi said, adding that after the sanctions removed last January, numerous foreign manufacturers expressed readiness to resume activities and provide equipment for the field' phases.

The equipment includes solenoids, pumps, valves, reservoirs, as well as refinery equipment, he added.
