While Iran’s car output is experiencing an increase, private automaker Diar Automobile Company has stopped its production.

The company’s output decreased by 100 percent to zero in last Iranian calendar month (Nov. 20-Dec. 21, 2016) from 20 cars in the same month of preceding year, ISNA news agency reported.

It is not clear why the company has suspended its production; however its output has been falling in recent months.

Diar Automobile Company manufactured 93 cars in the first nine months of current Iranian fiscal year (March 20-Dec. 21, 2016), indicating a fall by 59.4 percent compared to the same period of preceding year.

It should be noted that some 946,533 cars were produced in Iran in the first nine months of the current Iranian fiscal year, 38.7 percent more year-on-year.

Sedans accounted for 880,000 of the output with a production growth rate of 40.7 percent.

Diar Automobile Company is based in Golpayegan, Iran. The company produces SUVs and pick-ups under a license from China's Changcheng, also known as Great Wall Motors.
