Loading, unloading at Iranian ports up 21%

Total amount of the products loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports surged by 21 percent over the last Iranian month (ended Jan. 19) compared to the same period last year.

According to the latest statistics by Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization, 23.9 million tons of oil and non-oil products were loaded and unloaded at about 28 ports across the country in a period of one month between 21 December 2016 and 19 Jan 2017.

The statistics also suggests that the volume of the non-oil products (loaded and unloaded) increased by 18 percent in the mentioned period, reaching 9.7 million tons.

In the meantime, the figure for oil products grew by 24 percent as 14.2 million tons of commodities were loaded and unloaded in the mentioned period.

Meanwhile, 18.1 million tons of oil and non-oil products were loaded at the country’s ports.

The figure for loading of oil products in the mentioned period is 12.4 million tons.

According to the statistics, 1.8 million tons of oil products were unloaded in the mentioned period.

Iran also unloaded 3.9 million tons of non-oil products at its ports over the mentioned period.
