IKAC’s flight numbers up 7%

The number of flights departing from and arriving in Iran’s Imam Khomeini Airport City (IKAC) jumped 7 percent in the first nine months of the current Iranian fiscal year (since March 20).

During this period, the number of flights to and from the airport city reached 57,000, IKAC Vice CEO Kurosh Fattahi said, Mehr news agency reported January 23.

During the mentioned period, the number of passengers increased 10 percent and it is expected to hit 8.3 million by the end of the current year, Fattahi added.

According to Fattahi, freights transported via the airport city also increased an increase of 12 percent during the mentioned time span.

The IKAC currently accommodates 50 foreign and 10 Iranian airlines.
