Iran kicking off 86,000 jobs

Iran is initiating 86,000 job positions, some of which just started just recently and some will do so in a few days during the days marking the 1979 revolution, January 31-February 10.

There are 255 national projects to be inaugurated, which will create 22,000 jobs, Mohammad Reza Fayyaz, deputy minister of industry told a press conference, Trend correspondent reported from the event January 30.

He said most of the projects are situated in the provinces of Razavi Khorasan, Alborz, and Tehran, adding an investment of 117 trillion rials ($3.6 billion, at each USD 32,362 rials) went into launching them.

“There have also been 4,110 projects with over 60 percent construction progress. These were just brought on stream a few days ago, creating jobs for 64,000 people. A total investment of 18.5 trillion rials went into these projects,” the official added.

President Hassan Rouhani recently said that during the past two years, his administration created 700,000 net job opportunities each year, a great improvement from 140,000 jobs per year during the two administration terms before he took office.
