Over 76 percent of Iran’s bull semen imports came from the United States during the first nine months of current Iranian fiscal year (March 20-Dec. 20, 2016).
Iran imported 1.104 tons of bull semen, worth $3.121 million from the US in the period, the Iranian Customs Administration reported.
After the US, Canada was the other main exporter of bull semen to Iran with $948,445 worth of exports (201 kilograms) and 14 percent share of the total imports in terms of volume.
Germany (50 kilograms, worth $23,262), the Netherlands (34 kilograms, worth $964,517), the UK (20 kilograms, worth $90,077) and France (11.22 kilograms, worth $616,119) stood at the next places.
