By Fatih Karimov – Trend:

Iran's tax income amounted to 720 trillion rials ($22.22 billion based on official rate of 32,400 rials per each USD) in the first 11 months of the current Iranian fiscal year (March 20, 2016-Feb. 20), Kamel Taghavinejad, head of Iran's tax organization, said.

Taghavinejad said that the figure indicates an increase by 26 percent compared to the same period of the preceding year, Iran's IRNA news agency reported March 1.

Over 90 percent of the tax income envisaged by the national budget bill has been realized, he noted.

While tax evasion is considered as a main problem in the country, Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ali Tayyebnia suggests that 43 percent of Iranian people, entities, institutions or organizations who produce goods and services are excluded from paying taxes.

Taghavinejad said in December 2016 that the value of tax evasion in the county is between 130 trillion - 300 trillion rials.
