Iranian-European bank to be established in EU soon

An Iranian-European joint bank would be established in EU in early spring, Ahmad Haji Mohammadi, the head of international department of Sarmayeh (Investment) bank told Mehr Mar.7.

According to him, three Iranians and four Europeans would become members of board of directors at the bank. Iran would take 47 percent share in the joint bank, which would be established in one of European countries, he said, without giving out any details.

He also said that Iran plans to purchase stock in a foreign bank in Europe, but no results have been achieved so far.

Sarmayeh Bank is a privately owned bank, established in 2005. Haji Mohammadi said that Sarmayeh Bank has never been sanctioned and works transparently. The founding shareholders of Sarmayeh Bank include major pension and investment funds, insurance and service companies, and private individuals.
