The German company Linde has expressed interest to invest in Iran’s petrochemical sector, according to Iran’s Deputy Oil Minister Amir Hossein Zamaninia.

He said he had held talks with Linde officials in Tehran on the sidelines of Iran Petrochemical Forum April 22, where they said they were looking into a number of projects in Iran, SHANA news agency reported April 23.

“They believed that although European banks are still cautious about approaching Iran, there are many ways to finance projects,” he noted.

Zamaninia said Linde officials have especially voiced interest in jointing Iran LNG, an LNG plant under development at Tombak Port, approximately 50 kilometres (31 mi) north of Assaluyeh Port in southern Iran.

The Iranian official said that Linde is expected to make some final agreements with Iranian partners.
