Misery index in Iran fell from 43 to 21 percent from when Rouhani administration took office in 2013 to the present time, said Deputy Director of Iran Statistics Center Mohammad Reza Vaez Mahdavi.

Also, the country’s basic resources envisioned in the annual budget plan increased by 52 percent during these four years, Mahdavi said, IRNA news agency reported April 24.

The misery index helps determine how the average citizen is doing economically and it is calculated by simply adding the Annual inflation rate to the Seasonally Adjusted unemployment rate.

Iran’s economic growth hit 8 percent last fiscal year (which ended March 20), said the country’s Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ail Tayyebnia in early April.
