Iran imported 4.275 billion kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity during the last fiscal year, of which Turkmenistan’s share was 71.7 percent.
Turkmenistan exported about 3.04 billion kWh of electricity to Iran.
The share of Armenia from Iran’s total electricity imports also stood at 27.7%.
Iran increased electricity imports by 3.1 percent during last fiscal year, while its exports decreased by 15.7 percent.
Iran exported 7.61 billion kWh electricity to Iraq (76.5%), Turkey (6.9%), Pakistan (6.4%), Afghanistan (9.5%).
The country’s total electricity generation output increased by 3 percent to 289.181 billion kWh.
