China remains Iran’s main trade partner

Five countries including China, UAE, Iraq, Turkey, and South Korea imported 64 percent of Iran's total non-oil goods in terms of value in the last Iranian fiscal year (ended March 20, 2017).

China was the main importer of goods from Iran in the mentioned period. The country's imports accounted for 19.07 percent of Iran's total exports in terms of value, according to the latest statistics released by Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI).

Iran exported $8.377 billion worth of goods to China during the 12-month period.

China was Iran’s main trade partner in last fiscal year. The country exported $10.753 billion worth of goods to Iran in the period.

Iran also exported $7.436 billion worth of goods to the UAE, which marks 16.93 percent of Iran's total exports’ value.

Iraq ($6.111 billion), Turkey (with $3.244 billion), South Korea ($2.877 billion), India ($2.788 billion), Afghanistan ($2.457 billion), Japan ($1.139 billion), Pakistan ($795 million) and Taiwan ($551 million) were other top importers of Iranian goods.

Iran’s total non-oil exports (including the gas condensate) stood at $43.93 billion in the last fiscal year, which indicates a 3.5-percent increase.

The country’s trade turnover reached $87.614 billion in the 12-month period, registering a rise by 4.3 percent year-on-year.
