Iran’s oil exports to Japan increase by over 13%

Iran’s oil export to Japan has increased by 13.2 percent in March 2017 and reached 6.96 million barrels.

The figure indicates a rise by 8 percent compared to the preceding month, Japan’s ministry of economy, trade and industry said.

The figure includes 2.43 million barrels of condensates exported from Iran’s South Pars gas field.

Iran was Japan’s fourth oil supplier after Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Qatar, with a share of 7 percent in March 2017.

Saudi Arabia exported 41.6 million barrels of oil to Japan in March (41.9 percent share of the country’s total crude oil imports).

Iran’s oil exports to Japan reached 83.94 million barrels in the fiscal year of 2016, which is a 38-percent increase, compared to the preceding year.

Iran supplied 7 percent of Japan’s oil demand in 2016.

Iran’s oil exports increased by 1 mb/d last year to 2.42 mb/d and the figure would increase to 2.5 mb/d in 2017 and 2.59 mb/d in 2018, IMF previously said in a report.

Iran’s says its oil output capacity stands at about 4 mb/d, while the actual production volume is 3.8 mb/d. Iran also produces 560,000 b/d of gas condensate.
