Latin American miners to meet Iranian counterparts

A number of businessmen in the mining sector of Latin American countries are slated to meet with their Iranian counterparts May 15.

The meeting will be held at the headquarters of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development & Renovation (IMIDRO), IMIDRO public relations told Trend May 13.

During the meeting, the sides will explore venues of mutual cooperation and discuss the existing opportunities.

Ambassadors, charges d’aiffaires, and representatives from Cuba, Brazil, Ecuador, Venezuela, Uruguay, Chile, Nicaragua, Bolivia, and Mexico will attend the meeting.

Iran exported over $7 billion worth of minerals and mineral industry products during the ast fiscal year (ended March 20).

The volume of the exports reached 57.648 million tons in the 12-month period, 38 percent more year-on-year.

The main exported goods were steel products(6.6 million tons, worth $2.699 billion), followed by copper, aluminum, cement, lead, zing, coal, iron, chromium, molybdenum, titanium, mica, nickel, decorative stones and antimony.
