Trade turnover between Iran and the US decreased by 79 percent to $10.7 million in April as compared to March, the statistics of United States Census Bureau indicate.
Iran exported $5.7 million goods to US and imported $5 million worth of commodities in April.
During January-April, Iran’s total exports to US increased by $8.7 million, reaching $29.5 million year-on-year, while its imports decreased by $31.6 million to $57.4 million.
However, for the first time since 2008, Iran’s exports value to US is more than its imports.

During last year, the US exported $172 million worth of goods to Iran, mostly agriculture products and medical equipment, and imported $86 million worth of goods from Iran, mostly pistachios and carpets.
The trade balance between Iran and the US in 2000-2008 was in favour of the United States.
