Iran exports thousands tons of metal products through ports

The Islamic Republic of Iran exported 847,742 tons of metal products through 20 ports across the country over the last Iranian calendar month (April 21 to May 21).

According to the latest data available on the website of Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization, the country loaded and unloaded 1.08 million tons of metal products at its ports in the one-month period, indicating a 15.35 percent increase year-on-year.

In the meantime, the country imported 233,145 tons of metal products through the organization’s ports between April 21 and May 21.

According to the Islamic Republic’s Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), the country’s major state-run iron ore companies produced about 6.053 million tons of iron ore concentrate during the first two months of current fiscal year (March 20-May 21).

Iran’s Ministry of Mines and Trade has earlier announced that the country exported 5,000 tons of ferroalloys worth $7 million, 1.085 million tons of steel ingot worth $342 million, 85,000 tons of copper concentrate worth $58 million, 8,000 tons of cathode copper worth $38 million, and 35,000 tons of aluminum ingot worth $57 million within the first two months of the current year.

Iranian ports saw loading and unloading of a total of 11.8 million tons of various goods and commodities, including oil and food products, between April 21 and May 21.
