By Rahim Zamanov - Trend: The Leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei hailed the Geneva nuclear deal.

Ayatollah Khamenei also thanked the Iranian negotiating team.

He said that the negotiating team has done a praiseworthy job.

The leader described the Geneva deal as a success and called on the Iranian negotiators to resist any excessive demand in the future.

Iran's president Hassan Rouhani also in a letter to the country's leader praised the deal.

Rouhani congratulated Iran's leader and the Iranian nation.

The president also said the nuclear deal with the P5+1 will see the sanctions against Iran lifted step by step and that a final comprehensive agreement will see all international and unilateral sanctions removed.

Iran and the P5+1 reached a deal on the country's nuclear energy program after four days of intense talks.

The parties to negotiations held a signing ceremony at the UN office in Geneva.

The new agreement is considered a bid to narrow the gaps and finalize a nuclear deal with Iran.

The initial agreement puts an end to the decade-long standoff over Iran's nuclear energy program.
