Iranian First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri has said the overall atmosphere of the ongoing nuclear negotiations indicate a deal is not far to reach.

Iran and the group 5+1 (the US, UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany) are engaged in intense talks over the Islamic Republic's nuclear program.

"We hope that the outcome of the talks will be a positive one and we will gain the agreement we desire," he said, ISNA news agency reported March 30.

Pointing out that the Rouhani administration strenuously follows its foreign policy in establishing robust cooperation with the world, he deemed it a good sign that the foreign ministers of the six powers admit Iran's right to the nuclear energy.

"We hope to be able to lift the unjust sanctions from people's shoulder and pave the way for development," he stated.

"Even if the talks fail, we have made plans whereby people's lives and the country's development will grow better."

The negotiators are meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland, hoping to reach a political understanding of the case by March 31.
They have set a deadline of July 1 to strike a comprehensive deal.
