Senior officials from Iran, European Union and the United States began negotiations on Thursday on drafting a comprehensive nuclear deal that they hope to achieve by a self-imposed June 30 deadline, IRNA reported.

In these round of the talks, Foreign Ministry deputies Abbas Araqchi and Majid Takht-e Ravanchi, along with US Undersecretary of State Wendy Sherman and Deputy EU Foreign Policy Chief Helga Schmid work on narrowing the gaps remaining between Tehran and the Western powers.

This is the fifth round of talks the Iranian deputies of foreign minister hold with top ranking EU and American officials over the past month.

Abbas Araqchi, a senior member of Iranian negotiating team, said Monday that the other side has to terminate all economic and financial sanctions on Tehran on the very first day of the implementation of the deal.

Araqchi said that there are things that Iran will have to do on the other hand. But noted that what Iran is supposed to do will take time.

He said that Iran and the P5+1 are working on a timetable so that the measures by the two sides will be taken simultaneously.

He made it clear that all the economic and financial sanctions, including those related to energy, banking, financial services, SWIFT, insurance, transportation, ship-building and ports will be lifted at once on the first day of implementation of the nuclear accord.

Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his US counterpart John Kerry are due to meet in Geneva on Saturday to discuss on the course of talks.
