Iranian MPs have approved a proposal to form a special parliamentary commission to investigate the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) reached between Iran and the P5+ 1 in Vienna.

Some 136 lawmakers voted in favor of the proposal, meanwhile 29 MPs voted against and five abstained, Iran's Fars news agency reported July 21.

Some MPs have concerns about the nuclear deal that should be addressed, so lawmakers submitted the proposal about forming the commission, Ahmad Amirabadi, Iranian MP explained.

Iranian conservative MPs have already opposed some parts of the nuclear deal, in particular maintaining military sanctions on the Islamic Republic under the final nuclear deal.

Mansour Haqiqatpour, vice-Chairman of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission underlined the Iranian parliament's strong opposition on the issue, saying no one can impose any restrictions on Tehran 's defensive capabilities.

"We will not accept any non-nuclear restrictions in the agreement and, as Iran has reiterated since the beginning of the negotiations, the agreement is only on nuclear issues," Haqiqatpour added.

Iran 's legal bodies should investigate the JCPOA, he underlined.

Meanwhile Abbas Araqchi, senior Iranian nuclear negotiator and deputy foreign minister has warned that the nuclear deal may not be revised.

The JCPOA can be approved or rejected just on generalities, Araqchi said, adding whether the deal will be reviewed by the Supreme National Security Council or by the parliament each of the two entities can legally approve or reject the deal in general and are not allowed to modify it.

On July 14, Iran and the P5+1 -the United States, Britain, France, China, Russia and Germany - reached a final agreement in Vienna following 18 days of intensive talks over Tehran's nuclear program. The UN Security Council on July 20 unanimously adopted a resolution endorsing the JCPOA reached between the parties on non-proliferation.
