Iran's nuclear negotiating team, headed by Mohammad Javad Zarif will leave Tehran for New York Sept. 22 to take part negotiations with counterparts from the six world powers.

Iran and the P5+1 foreign ministers' meeting is scheduled to be held on Sept. 28 on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in New York, Iran's semi-official Fars news agency reported Sept. 21.

In their first meeting following the nuclear deal the parties will discuss the latest developments regarding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) reached by Iran and the P5+1 (the US, UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany) on July 14.

Iranian deputy foreign minister Abbas Araqchi and Director General of Political and International Affairs of Iran's Foreign Ministry Hamid Baidinejad will accompany Zarif in the visit. Deputy FM Majid Takht Ravanchi will join the Iranian negotiators later.

The first meeting of the Iran-P5+1 joint commission will be held in New York as well, however the exact date for the meeting is not unveiled yet.

A joint commission consisting of the P5+1 nations, Iran, and the European Union (EU) will monitor compliance with the nuclear agreement that was achieved between Tehran and the six world powers. If they cannot resolve an issue then the UN Security Council will have the final say.
