Baku, Azerbaijan, Mar. 6

By Emil Ilgar – Trend:

Americans who live in Iran can open bank accounts in the country, lawyer with the Central Bank of Iran's (CBI) Legal Studies Department Hamid Ghanbari, said on March 6.

He said that according to the United States Department of the Treasury's recent issued allowance, American citizens with residence in Iran can open bank accounts in the country, IRNA reported.

He said that nuclear-related US sanctions on Iran have been removed entirely and the remained sanctions are those imposed before 2006 and don’t have any relation to the nuclear issue.

Iran and P5+1 group, including US, France, UK, Russia, China plus Germany reached a nuclear deal, which was implemented in January 2016.

The deal lifted nuclear-related sanctions on Iran.
