Iranian police chief Esmaeel Ahmadi Moghaddam says, that enemies are doing their utmost to dissuade people from voting in the upcoming presidential election, ISNA reported on Wednesday.

But, they have lost their reputation and come to the conclusion that their plots will not be fruitful, Ahmadi Moghaddam said.

"People will follow them no longer. If people remain united with the ruling system, no external threat will be effective", he said.

He predicted that the upcoming election will be one of the most secured ones during the history.
He went on to say that each of the voting stations will be safeguarded by four security forces.

More than 50.4 million Iranians are eligible to vote in the upcoming presidential election, the Mehr News Agency quoted Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar as saying.
Over 1.6 million can vote for the first time, he added.

Some 130,000 balloting centres will be set up across the country, he said, adding that 285 centres will be also set up for Iranians living overseas.

Former vice president Mohammad Reza Aref, MP Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel, Supreme National Security Council Secretary Saeed Jalili, Expediency Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei, Hassan Rohani, the director of the Strategic Research Centre of the Expediency Council, Tehran Mayor
Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf, former Telecommunications Minister Mohammad Gharazi, and former Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Velayati are the eight candidates who will compete in the presidential race.

Iran will hold the eleventh presidential election on June 14, 2013.
