Laws to be changed to create new cabinet of ministers in Iran

On proposal of the Internal Parliament Rules Codification Commission of Iranian parliament, some laws will be changed for the creation of a new cabinet of ministers, the deputy chairman of the commission Gholam Reza Kateb said, Fars information website reported.

On proposal of the Internal Parliament Rules Codification Commission of Iranian parliament, some laws will be changed for the creation of a new cabinet of ministers, the deputy chairman of the commission Gholam Reza Kateb said, Fars information website reported.

Kateb noted that changes will be made to certain conditions regarding the candidates for minister posts, which will be proposed by the newly elected president.

In order for these changes to take effect, this draft law should be confirmed by the Guardian Council along with the Parliament.

Kateb said that according to the changes in the law, a person appointed to the post of minister should have a minimum of ten years of experience in the field to which he was appointed as a minister. In addition, this person must have at least a master's degree.

Presidential elections in Iran were held on June 14. The inauguration of the newly elected President Hassan Rouhani will be held in early August. After this the new president will present candidates for ministers to the parliament.

Kateb said that all efforts will be made for completing the process of discussion and approving the draft law till August 3.
