Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Turkmen counterpart Rashid Meredov pledged to do their best to utilize the two states' abundant potentials to expand relations between Tehran and Ashgabat in energy as well as road and rail transport, IRNA reported.
In a meeting in New York, Zarif and Meredov explored avenues for bolstering and reinvigorating bilateral ties.
Zarif is in New York to take part in the new round of negotiations between Iran and the Group 5+1.
Iranian President Hassan Rohani is also in New York to attend the annual meeting of the UN General Assembly.
