Iran's President Hassan Rouhani introduced a new candidate for Ministry of Science, Research and Technology to Parliament on Nov. 11, the Islamic Republic State IRNN TV reported.

Rouhani introduced Fakhredin Ahmadi Danesh Ashtiani as his nominee for the post. Within ten days, the parliament should make a decision regarding the nominee, whether to allow him on the position.

On Oct. 29, the parliament rejected Mahmoud Nili Ahmadabadi - Rouhani's previous nominee for the post. Some 79 MPs voted for Nili Ahmadabadi, while 160 MPs voted against, and 7 MPs were neutral.

Iranian Parliament dismissed former minister of science, research and technology, Reza Faraji Dana on Aug.20. Rouhani then appointed Mohammad Ali Najafi, a reformist politician as the caretaker for the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.
