Situation in region foregrounds Iranian-Azerbaijani co-op, deputy FM says

The cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran is important for both of these countries, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia and Pacific Affairs Ebrahim Rahimpour told Trend on Dec.25.

He said the reciprocal visits of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani promote the settlement of many issues in the relations of the two countries.

The deputy minister added that the bilateral relations between Iran and Azerbaijan are at the high level.

"We have fruitful cooperation at the level of ministers in many spheres, including in new fields," Rahimpour added.

He said some negative processes and in general, the situation in the region foregrounds the Azerbaijani-Iranian cooperation.

"The cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan can allow to resolve the problems in the region," the deputy minister added.

Rahimpour said that currently, there is no need to review the problematic issues between the two countries, adding that Iran and Azerbaijan intend to use every opportunity to ensure the development of bilateral cooperation.

Iranian deputy minister said that currently, the cooperation between the two countries is expanding in accordance with the taken measures and adopted programs.

"Currently, Azerbaijan and Iran implement a number of projects, and we hope that these projects will bring their results soon," Rahimpour added.

Moreover, Rahimpour praised the prospects for the development of Azerbaijani-Iranian relations.
