Three members of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have been killed by gunmen in Saravan, Sistan and Baluchestan Province, located on the border of Pakistan.

Three IRGC members killed in southeastern border region of Iran include Colonel Akbar Abdollahnejad, Captain Godratollah Mandani and a regular solder named Mousa Nasiri in southeastern border of Iran, Fars News Agency reported.

The Governor of Fars Province told Fars News Agency that the theses army forces were killed by "foreign hirelings and bandits", without mentioning any specific name.

No group has taken responsibility for the murders yet.

The southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan Province has been the scene of a number of terrorist attacks in recent years.

On February 6, Jaish-ul-Adl militants kidnapped five Iranian border guards in Jakigour region in Sistan and Baluchestan and took them into Pakistani territory.

On October 25, 2013, Jaish-ul-Adl killed 14 Iranian border guards and wounded six others in the border region near the city of Saravan in Sistan and Baluchestan Province.
