Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani is expected to visit Turkey on Jan.20 to take part in the 10th session of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation member states (PUIC).

Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani is expected to visit Turkey on Jan.20 to take part in the 10th session of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation member states (PUIC).

Larijani will meet with parliament speakers and officials from Islamic countries during the visit to discuss issues of mutual interests, as well as regional developments, Iran's Mehr news agency reported Jan. 18.

The 10th session of the PUIC is scheduled for Jan. 20-22.

The PUIC was established in 1999 and is based in Tehran, Iran. The union mainly aims to promote Islamic teachings and discuss cultural, social and political issues that concern member states.

The 9th conference of the PUIC was held in Tehran on February 14-19, 2014. The conference was attended by 28 speakers of parliaments, the parliamentary delegations of the members-states, observers and numerous guests.
