By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Major General Qasem Suleimani, the commander of the al Quds force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), paid a visit Thursday to Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah and several senior Hezbollah officials.

Suleimani also paid a visit to the grave of Jihad Mughniyeh, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in Quneitra, Golan Heights Syria, earlier this month, based on a report by al Mayadeen TV.

Suleimani, a close friend of Mughniyeh, laid wreaths at the graves of Hezbollah fighters that were killed in the Israeli strike in Quneitra.

Six Hezbollah commanders and fighters were killed in the Jan. 18 Israeli airstrike in addition to a senior Iranian general.

Iran confirmed on Jan. 19 that a high-ranking general of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Mohammad Ali Allahdadi was killed in Syria as a result of an Israeli helicopter strike, led to death of Jihad Mughniyeh and some other Hezbollah members.

The strike took place on Jan. 18 in the Syrian sector of the Golan Heights, close to the ceasefire line separating the Israeli and Syrian sectors. Five Hezbollah fighters including the son of the group's slain military commander, Imad Mughniyeh were also killed in the attack.

The attack, targeting two vehicles traveling in the Syrian portion of the Golan Heights, came days after Hezbollah's leader, Hassan Nasrallah, said Israeli strikes in Syria constituted serious aggression and that Syria and its allies had a right to respond.
