US cannot ignore power of new IRGC weapon-commander

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy Commander Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said on March 2 that the US cannot ignore the power of the new weapon used by IRGC in its recent war game.

He described the weapon which was test fired at Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) War Game as very special, Iran's IRNA news agency reported.

The new strategic weapon is very special, indicating that Iran has attained sophisticated technological know-how for production of such weapons.

The Americans pretend that they are not concerned about this great achievement of the Iranian forces, underlined the commander.

The US has the least presence in the Persian Gulf region now compared to previous years, he said, adding that during war in Kuwait, one million US troops were present in the region but the figure is now stands at less than 26,000.

IRGC is now monitoring the Persian Gulf and Hormuz Strait round the clock and the Americans know that they are not in a position to pose any threat to Iran, he said.

Iran is powerful enough to keep Hormuz Strait open but the Americans seek to create crisis in the region the same way they did in Afghanistan and Iraq, he said.

Iran's nuclear negotiations (with P5+1) have nothing to do with the current war game, he said.
