Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari rejected reports that the country's fleet has been driven out of the Gulf of Aden by Egyptian warships.

We will not have any fleet to give us unjustified warnings, asserted Sayyari, Fars news agency reported March 31.

The Navy of the Islamic Republic is patrolling the northern Indian Ocean with full power and in keeping with international regulations, he said. The commander added that the Iranian fleet is keeping security over maritime transport routes.

The Iranian fleet will not have any other fleet give it unjustified warnings, so the reports published by some "arrogant" media are false, he stated.

Senior editor of Saudi online paper Arab News, Siraj Wahab, on March 26 tweeted that Egyptian ships forced the Iranian fleet out of Bab Al-Mandab strait near the Port of Aden.
