Iran, China stress peaceful resolution of Yemen crisis

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amirabdollahian and China's special envoy on Middle East affairs Gong Xiaosheng in a meeting on April 8 stressed peaceful resolution of Yemen crisis.

During the meeting, Amirabdollahian urged resolution of Yemen crisis through political tools, calling for immediate halt of Saudi Arabia airstrikes against Yemen, Iran's official IRNA news agency reported.

Terrorism is spreading across the Middle East very fast and threatens the world security and stability, he noted.

Amirabdollahian warned about repetition of Libya and Syria scenarios in Yemen and asked China to help resolution of Yemen crisis in order to prevent the spread of crisis.

China's special envoy on Middle East affairs for his part stressed the necessity of respecting countries' sovereignty and regional cooperation to resolve regional crisis through political means.

He underlined boost of bilateral ties and praised Iran's foreign policy towards the region.
