The Iranian deputy foreign minister and president's special envoy said that military invasion against Yemen under unfounded pretext is not acceptable and underlined the need for immediate halt to military attacks, IRNA reported.

After a meeting with Lebanese Premier Tammam Salam on Wednesday noon,Sarmadi told reporters that a strategic mistake had really happened and all countries interested in peace and security should try to stop the military attacks.

He pointed out that Yemen is not a country to be ruled by another country and all domestic groups with popular base should participate in forming a broad base government.

Sarmadi said 'We do our utmost and hope the friendly countries would also join us in this efforts to end the war in Yemen.'

'We reject military operations as a wrong and incorrect measure and as a strategic mistake and naturally we want to concentrate all efforts on finding a political solution,' he added.

The official expressed pleasure with his visit to the friendly country of Lebanon and said that in his meetings with Premier Tammam Salam and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri regional and world issues were discussed.

Sarmadi added 'We discussed nuclear understanding between Iran and Group 5+1 and the latest events in the region, especially in Yemen and aerial attacks against people and infra-structures of the country.'

He expressed hope that through such consultations appropriate solutions could be found to save region from terrorism, extremism and insecurity.

Answering a question, Sarmadi said that the most important issue he had discussed with Lebanese officials as well as officials from Tunisia, Algeria and Iraq was the issue of Yemen.

Sarmadi, heading a delegation, arrived in Beirut on Wednesday morning on the fifth leg of his regional tour.

He already visited Oman, Iraq, Tunisia and Algeria before arriving in Lebanon.
