By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran and Russia enjoy important and strategic ties and work together to establish peace and stability in the region, Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Parliament Alaeddin Boroujerdi said.

He made the remarks in a meeting in Moscow with Russian Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin, Iran's Fars news agency reported April 14.

During the meeting, the Russia official expressed satisfaction about the progress in nuclear talks between Iran and the P5+1 group, saying that Russia will continue to support the nuclear talks.

Boroujerdi, for his part, said that the military invasion and the killing of civilians in Yemen is a menace to the stability and security in the world.

On April 7, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian and his Russian counterpart Mikhail Bogdanov voiced concern over the continuation of the Saudi-led airstrikes on Yemen and warned against the repercussions of the Saudi aggression on regional security and stability.
