The people of Yemen were the real winners of the military operation against the country, said Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani.
Previously, the Saudi-led coalition that has been bombing Yemen for almost a month says its military operation "Decisive Storm" has ended, and a new campaign aimed at protecting civilians and preventing Houthi fighters from operating has begun.
Brigadier-General Ahmed al-Asiri, the coalition's spokesperson, said that the coalition had achieved its military goals in Yemen and a new operation, called "Renewal of Hope", would aim to protect civilians and combat "terrorism".
Meanwhile, Larijani congratulated Yemeni people on their resistance and steadfastness which discouraged the invaders, Iran's Mehr news agency reported on April 22.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran had repeatedly announced that the invasion was in line with the will of Israel, Larijani said. "Now, Saudi rulers should wait and see that such approaches are fruitless, instead they will lose their Islamic legitimacy."
Larijani said it was a pity that the Yemeni president himself encouraged for the military operations to be carried out against his own country - a move which left no legitimacy for him.
