Tehran, Iran, June 14
By Mehdi Sepahvand - Trend:
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said those who do not take economic sanctions seriously are ignorant of people's economic situation.
He made the remarks in an address to people in the city of Bojnord, capital of North Khorasan province as part of his provincial visit there, IRNA news agency reported June 14.
"Those, who say we should not use top diplomats to negotiate with the P5+1 group, seem to be unaware of people's lives," he stated.
"Those who did us wrong and prepared the chain of sanctions for people, these ill-wishing people imported all sorts of goods from abroad with costs 10 to 15 percent higher and took that cost from people's pockets."
"We can put the country on the path to progress and development," he said, adding that his administration will not back down and will move to bring about the revocation of economic sanctions on the country.
Iran is negotiating with the group P5+1 (the US, UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany) over its nuclear program to strike a deal that would remove the economic sanctions. The deal is to be reached by June 30.
