Supreme Leader's Advisor for International Affairs Ali Akbar Velayati said Iran will not trade its territorial sovereignty and national security, supporting the country's nuclear negotiating team, IRNA reported.

'We will not sell out our territorial sovereignty in global markets. We will not transact our national interest with anything either,' he told a TV program on Tuesday night.

Velaytai who was commenting on lifting of Iran sanctions by UN Security Council on Monday, added, 'Maintaining the territorial sovereignty is one of our basic principles. The Iranian people have proved it before that they will not allow one iota of their land to be compromised.'

Valayati, also head of the Center for Strategic Research of Iran's Expediency Council, threw his support behind Iran's nuclear neogtiating team and said, 'Its reputable and distinguised members are second to none.'
