A delegation from the Congress of Deputies of Spain is going to visit Iranian capital Tehran in less than ten days.

Announcing the news, Iranian MP Hossein Shiekholeslam said the delegation will be led by Mario Mingo, head of the Health and Social Service Commission of the Spanish Congress, IRNA news agency reported August 22.

The parliamentary team will travel to Tehran on August 30 and stay here for four days.

They are slated to meet a number of Iranian counterparts as well as governmental officials.

In February, an Iranian trade official announced that senior Spanish trade officials have shown interest in starting investments in the Iranian market despite western sanctions.

"The Spanish companies have a positive view about cooperation with Iranian firms and they have been present in Iran's market during the difficult years of the sanctions," head of Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Yahya Al-e Eshaq said.

The volume of the trade exchanges between the two countries amounted to 4 billion Euros in 2011, while the figure stood at 3.5 billion Euros in 2009.

The trade turnover between the two countries accounted for $360 million in last Iranian fiscal year (ended on March 20), according to the Islamic Republic Customs administration.
