Two IRGC members killed in armed conflict on Iran-Turkey border

Two IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps) members were killed during an armed confrontation with terrorists in Iran 's northwestern province of West Azerbaijan.

The incident took place last night on the Iran-Turkey border near the city of Khoy, Iran 's semi-official Fars news agency reported Sept. 8.

Two IRGC members also were injured in the armed conflict.

Some of the terrorist group members were killed and five were arrested, according to the report.

No further information was published about the identity of the arrested people.

Meanwhile Governor of Khoy city, Hossein Silvani told official IRNA news agency that the terrorists who took part in the armed conflict with the IRGC were members of PJAK, Iranian wing of Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).

He added that two PJAK members were killed in the conflict.
