Senior officials in the presence of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his Austrian counterpart Heinz Fischer signed the documents in Tehran, Iran's State IRINN TV reported on Sept. 8.

Iran's Environmental Protection Organization and Austria 's Federal Minister of Agriculture, Forests, Environment and Water Management signed the documents. Meanwhile, a memorandum of understanding was signed to hold the 8th joint economic committee meeting.

In a joint press conference after signing the documents, the Austrian president said the bilateral trade is planned to reach 300 million euros by the end of the current year.

Austria also welcomes cultural and scientific cooperation with Iran, he said, adding, such cooperation should meet interests of both sides.

Fischer's visit follows the signing in July of a landmark accord between Iran and world powers on its disputed nuclear program, after talks held in Austria.
