By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran managed to overcome unjust sanctions of world powers, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said.
"I do not want to say that the unjust sanctions of world powers could be lifted on a single day or night. But, we managed to overcome the sanctions under the guidance of the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the bravery of armed forces," Iran 's Fars news agency quoted Rouhani as saying Sept. 15.
He made the remarks in the national gathering of commanders of the Islamic
Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
"Whenever we joined hands and maintained unison and unity under the Constitution and the leader's guidance, we have been victorious and have forced the enemy to retreat," Rouhani said.
Iran and the group P5+1 (the US, UK, France, Russia, China, and Germany) struck the JCPOA on July 14. The deal limits Iran's nuclear program in return for lifting sanctions on the country.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has said that the primary and secondary US sanctions against Iran will be halted for eight years, after which the US president is required to introduce a bill to Congress for their removal.
