By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran and France negotiated to cooperate on the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) project.

Director of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi met with French delegation on the sidelines of the 59th Annual Regular Session of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) General Conference in Vienna, Iran's Fars news agency reported Sept. 16.

The two sides discussed the method cooperation after the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

The director of the French delegation called negotiations with Iran 'constructive' and hoped that it would pave the way for boosting bilateral ties.

ITER is an international nuclear fusion research and engineering megaproject. The ITER project aims to make the long-awaited transition from experimental studies of plasma physics to full-scale electricity-producing fusion power plants.
