Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian had a meeting with his Russian counterpart Mikhail Bogdanov in Moscow Sept. 21.

IRNA reported that during the meeting the parties discussed the coordination of ties between Tehran and Moscow for a peaceful settlement of the processes taking place in the Middle East and the positive results of such coordination.

Bogdanov said he appreciates the regional processes taking place between Iran and Russia, especially the cooperation on developments in Syria, underscoring the importance of close cooperation in this area.

He also said numerous solutions to peaceful settlement of the crises in the region were highlighted during the discussions of the two countries' officials.

"Our countries will realize various programs to develop both regional and bilateral ties," Bogdanov added.

Amirabdollahian noted for his part that the talks held between various officials create opportunity for development of relations and regional integration.

Iranian deputy foreign minister also said he positively assesses the results of his trip to Beirut (Lebanon) and Damascus (Syria), adding that the cooperation between Iran and Russia is important for the solution of the Syrian crisis and fighting the terrorism.
