An Iranian MP has said claims by some Iranians who say the Iranian nuclear case belongs to the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei are a major injustice.

Alireza Zakani, head of the former interim special commission on the JCPOA, criticized Iranian figures whom try in their statements to imply that the nuclear case follows the ideas of the Leader, Mehr news agency reported Oct. 20.

He also commented on the nuclear negotiations and said the Iranian negotiators made some big mistakes.

Their first mistake was that they started the talks from point zero, that is, they reset all the toils of previous negotiators and all the arrangements that had been made in Almaty and other meetings, he said.

He added the second biggest mistake was that the Iranian diplomats engaged in two-sided talks with the US while it had been held with three European countries previously, which then were increased to five as China and Russia joined.

He also blamed the Iranian negotiation team for playing in the hands of the West.

Their other mistake was that they did not use the consultation of experts, Zakani said.

The JCPOA commission provided a report to Parliament that generally showed a negative image of the nuclear deal and was likely to lead MPs to vote against it and prevent the Iranian government from adopting the JCPOA.

However, their report was overruled as the Parliament board of directors referred the evaluation of the deal to the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, which swiftly voted for the deal, leading to the passage of a law that allowed the government to adopt and implement the deal in reciprocal action with the group P5+ 1.
