By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has said that the country's foreign policy will not be changed due to the change of governments.

Iran's foreign policy, like all countries of the world, is based on its long-term interests, values and principles. Governments just exercise their influence in developing tactics and strategies, the Khamenei.ir website reported.

He outlined Iran's "logical and well-defined approaches" on important issues in the region, including in Syria, Yemen and Bahrain, saying that objectives of the US in the region are 180 degrees different from those of Iran.

With these specifications and characteristics, the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is revolutionary, and if it is implemented using intelligent approaches, it will bring about great results.

"We do not claim that we have achieved, or even have moved close to achieving all of our objectives. Some negligence, sluggishness, or problems have been seen in the implementation of our foreign policy," he added.
